Man is but a big mushroom I say I say - quite enthusiastically. He just hasn't completely realized it yet, well at least not all us anyhow. I guess that's why I'm writing this hub - to shout from the rooftops of the internet that yes - we homo sapiens and quite frankly all life forms on this planet are but hubs of fungal information connected to each and every other hub -or organism if you like - by white intelligent threads that weave their way beneath us in the earth as the neurological network of the planet -known as mycelium. Master Mycologist Paul Stamets who has been studying mycelium for over the last twenty years has come to the personal understanding that mycelium seems to be sentient and aware of all and everything going on in the environment and analogizes it to acting as something like the internet between all species of life. It seems as though that mycelial networks and the kingdom of fungi all together are the true executives over planetary affairs. They are in control of the life/death functions of the planet and as Stamets puts it "are the grand molecular disassemblers and recyclers of the planet". In the kingdom of fungi life and death are just part of an ever continuing process of novel energetic expression of organic diversity and specie variety. Everything eventually in some molecular form or another ends up in the networks and is absorbed and its information reconstituted into new form. Wow - first you perish and rot and are rotted upon and fed on and chemically dissolved into raw molecular data and then what was once you whatever you are - whether it be animal, mineral or vegetable, - are dispersed through the networks to nourish and aid other growing and organically flowing animals, vegetables or minerals. Hmmmm, this seems to me like some sort of re-incarnative information entity that knows how to live and exist and experience itself through all of its creation. Dying as one thing leads to life in another. Just recycled data bits thats all. But I've fallen off my original train of thought - why is man a mushroom? - I blurted it out like it was the most blatant truth ever spoken. Where is my proof? Is this just some sort of spoof? I assure you all not. This is the truth, my truth, and a few others who giggle under their breath with that nifty notion. Man is a mighty mushroom - well actually I will rephrase and perhaps it in itself will be more explanatory. Man is the extension of the mycelium who has forgotten that he is apart of this network that consciously regulates and maintains the balance of planetary existence. If we understood that we were extensions of this conscious network we in turn would again become conscious with it and allow it to teach us and show us the secrets and know how of planetary mind and wits maintenance so we could live in that harmonious intellectual paradise amusement park that has always been our collective species dream. Or we can continue as unconscious monkeys grunting out our existence for a few measly bananas and fight amongst ourselves until kingdom fungi finally gets sick of us and generates a plague to wipe our dumb asses out so it can start all over again and design a species that will be come self aware enough to realize that that self awareness resides and originated someplace else, somewhere in the ground, covering the entire planet and interconnecting all organisms with its cognizant threads - the mycelial mastermind.

Man is a big mushroom -more to come - for me it is an infinite topic of discussion. That was just something that has been dying to come off my chest for awhile now. It won't be such a tirade next time -promise.
